Beard Suspends World Tour For Harvest

beardBecause of an early start to the harvest season at Rogue Farms, the Beard announced today he is suspending the 2014 World Tour de Beard and will only be available for a limited number of public appearances until further notice.

The Rogue Farms honey harvest begins Thursday, July 3rd in Independence, Oregon which – because of a bountiful season – is a month sooner than normal. The Beard will appear for the harvest to extract honey from the honeycombs and to see for himself what he’ll be using to brew upcoming batches of 19 Original Colonies Mead, Honey Kolsch and Marionberry Braggot.

The Beard also announced he’ll make his 25th consecutive pilgrimage to the 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival starting Wednesday, July 23rd. The Beard is pleased to serve as Grand Marshal of the Oregon Brewers Parade, an honor he shares with Rogue Ales and Spirits President Brett Joyce.

He will also participate in the 10th Annual Sasquatch Brew Am golf tournament on Friday, July 25th. The event honors Glen Hay Falconer, a legend in Oregon brewing and close friend of the Beard.

  1. John, I’m sure the adoring public understands the hiatus, and we will savor the ultimate sacrifice with every foamy head touching our full-bearded whiskers. Your sacrifice always ends up tasty. Sacrifice responsibly (haha).
