The second stop on the European leg of the 2016 World Wide Tour De Beard saw Rogue Brewmaster John “The Beard” Maier in the Danish capital of Copenhagen for a Rogue Ales Tap Takeover and Meet The Brewer night at the Taphouse.

The Beard’s final public stop on this leg of the World Wide Tour De Beard is June 25th at the Castle Pub in Berlin, with seven Rogue beers. The Beard calls upon all of his German fans to join him for this special occasion.

The Beard Returns To Europe

The Beard will be the guest of honor, Friday, June 10th, at the Taphouse in the heart of beautiful Copenhagen. With 61 rotating taps, the Taphouse has Europe’s largest selection of draft beers. Eleven of them will be devoted to Rogue Ales for this Meet The Brewer event featuring the Beard.

Berlin – Castle Pub

Proudly proclaiming itself as Berlin’s grungiest pub, the Castle Pub welcomes the Beard for a Rogue Ales Tap Takeover on Saturday, June 25th. The Beard will again deliver his famous “Ich bin ein Berliner bier” speech that brought tears to the eyes of Berliners during his previous visit.

The following photos were taken by amateur drone enthusiasts who risked their personal safety to capture images of the Beard in this exotic locale. Your challenge, should you accept it, is to identify the country and the locations visited by the Beard.

The Beard Visits Michigan

WESTLAND, MICH. – Thousands of craft beer lovers braved stormy skies and threat of rain for a rare opportunity to meet the Beard at the annual Michigan Cask Ale Festival which was held this past weekend.

Clouds and the threat of rain did not damper the spirits of festival goers.

The Beard did not disappoint, bringing with him a cask conditioned keg of 4 Hop IPA, which he crafted exclusively for the festival.

After signing autographs and submitting to selfies with the many members of his adoring public, the Beard took a moment to enjoy some of the other fine cask conditioned beers available at the festival.

May 1, 1989: Rogue Brewmaster John “The Beard” Maier walks into a garage along Bayfront Blvd. in Newport, Oregon and begins crafting his first brew for Rogue Ales.

27 years, nearly 20,000 brews and 1,800 awards later, he’s still leading the Revolution.

From New York To Nassau With The Beard

The Beard has returned from his tour of the East Coast and the Bahamas, and thanks his many fans for their warm welcome. During his week long, five-stop tour, the Beard spread the news of the Rogue Grow Your Own Revolution, recruited 1,134 new citizens to Rogue Nation and visited some of the region’s many fine drinking establishments.

A longtime highlight of the annual Tour De Beard is the Arthritis Bike Classic Oregon. This year’s ride has a new route, which the Beard has released to facilitate the interests of his loyal legions of fans who are often seen cheering the Beard as he rides through the scenic Oregon countryside.

A longtime favorite event of the Beard, the Oregon Brewers Festival is a celebration of the state’s rich craft beer culture. The Beard was honored to serve as Co-Grand Marshall with Rogue President Brett Joyce in 2014.

We anticipate the Beard will attend this year’s festival and will announce his public schedule at his earliest possible convenience.

The Beard’s favorite ride has a new name and a new route. The six-day Arthritis Bike Classic – Oregon starts in the streets of Portland, takes riders through the backroads of Oregon’s hops country, up and over the Coast Range and ends in beautiful Newport, the hometown of Rogue Ales and Spirits.

What hasn’t change is that ride raises money for the Arthritis Foundation, a cause near and dear to the Beard. Last year the Beard and his followers raised $3,848. The Beard is already accepting contributions for this year’s ride on his personal donation page.

Denver Wins The SuperBeard

Superbowl celebrations were suspended this week as the people of Denver welcomed Rogue Brewmaster John “The Beard” Maier to the Mile-High City.

The 2016 Worldwide Tour De Beard brought the the Beard to the Euclid Club, where he attended a special dinner in his honor that paired a five-course meal with six Rogue beers chosen personally by the Beard.

Each table was presented with a specially prepared pig's head.

Despite plans for a private dinner, paparazzi crashed the event and managed to capture one blurry photo of the Beard before being removed by security.
